Bay Shaping Limited is a specialist shaping company led by company director and head shaper Dave Graham, whose career spans more than 25 years in the golf course and landscape industry, including two decades as a dedicated shaping specialist. Known for transforming raw ground into refined, high-performance landscapes, Dave has built a reputation as one of New Zealand’s most sought-after shaping professionals.
What sets Bay Shaping apart is the fusion of elite experience and specialist machinery capability. Our latest Caterpillar 310 excavator, equipped with an advanced Steelwrist 360° tiltrotator, delivers exceptional precision, unrestricted movement, and the creative freedom to sculpt complex contours, natural landforms, and intricate shaping outcomes that conventional machinery simply cannot achieve. Complementing this is our agile CAT 305 with tilt hitch system, purpose-built for narrow access sites, confined spaces, and highly detailed work where precision matters.

We engaged Bay Shaping Ltd to rescue a prototype mini golf project called ‘Smallgusta’. We were under pressure but we were instantly impressed, relieved and grateful we had a proficient operator who communicated well and made sure we got it right. After we saw what he could do in a short manner of time we let him go a step further, creating a 60m steep clay bank into an undisputed feature of the golf course with landscaped steps, embedded rocks and a smooth rolling embankment.
